As usual in my life whenever I use the word "never", I eat my words. Here I am going against my firm stance and starting a blog. Please don't judge.
"Why the change?", I imagine the person who is reading newly birthed blog asks with both curiosity and sincere interest. Well, to be honest I don't know. I'm almost positive that the answer is not rooted in a desire for affirmation, which I didn't have many years ago. On the contrary, merely exiting from puberty raised my self-esteem significantly. Nor, do I account my decision to a new want for attention. As stated before, my attention needs were probably at their peek during my years of braces, khaki skorts, and overall unsureness.
With some contemplation, I came to the conclusion that the answer lies in a newly matured appreciation for expression. Expression is one of the foundational elements of creativity. Poetry is a poet's attempt to expression their love, their belief, their story. Art is an artist's attempt to express their perspective, their passion, their life. And following in that same pattern, a blog is a method of expression for the modern age. So, with slight nervousness and a wounded pride I step forward into a blogging adventure, hopping that it may teach me many things, mostly the beauty of expression.
My goals:
1) Approach with both sincere depth and lightness of speech (I want to show passion, but never take myself too seriously)
2) Never use this blog as an outlet to vent or complain
3) Regularly "post", without making it a distraction
Let's get this party started...
